Full Moon = Full Craziness?
This week has been full of huge events, deadlines and snow. At a holiday party that I recently attended with my co-workers I overheard a conversation I had heard a few times in my life before but never quite understood, it went a little like this:
Employee #1: Did you see the moon last night?
Employee #2: No, but did you see the sunrise this morning?
Employee #1: No, but I just could not sleep last night. I just wanted to stare at the moon shining brightly on the snow.
(All who are listening give a chuckle.)
Employee #1 continues by saying : Yeah, come to think of it my daughter was acting really crazy last night. She was running around and could not calm down and honestly my mind kept running while I was trying to sleep. I think it's the full moon. It makes people do crazy things and become more energized.
**
While this incident is short, it still was difficult for me to navigate. I have heard similar things before and always thought it was ridiculous but here was a woman who is grad school educated talking about it. Doing research on the full moon and human activity is interesting and almost makes my arm hair stand up because I think of wolf man. Even the word lunatic comes from the latin word luna. So maybe there is something in it. I will have to do more research when it's not night time. I also think it could be just a way that people understand what is going around them. If a full moon, helps people understand why they make certain decisions or why different things happen to them, then that is something that I am okay with. Sometimes it's not about the factual evidence of something but the intent behind it.

"There are nights when the wolves are silent and only the moon howls."
