This symbol represents empowering young black leaders. The light bulbs are shaped differently to illustrate the difference that each youth may hold in their own individuality as well as their place in leadership yet each lightbulb holds a power fist that alludes to the story of overcoming that is within them. The colors of each lightbulb represent a different style of leadership, as based on the color of leadership wheel ( see image below). Blue represents the "Do it Right" perspective, red is the "Do it NOW" , yellow is "Do it together" and green is "Do it in a caring way." I thought it was important to bring in this extra element because when youth work with their peers who have different strengths and weaknesses, they can collaborate with one another to become stronger leaders.
